A man leads his lonely life throughout the seasons, with glimpses of the family next door celebrating different holidays. As he eats breakfast, watches TV and goes food shopping alone, we hear the soundtrack of his voicemail recording -- but there are no messages. On a freezing winter day, he drags himself through the snow only to find the streets are deserted. The parking lot is desolate and the supermarket is closed.
Age UK and Drum agency asked me to direct this film to show the loneliness of old people in England.
With the film, Age UK saw their highest increase in volunteers and donations ever recorded. The 60sec TVC and 4min long-form film were also supported by a partnership with Channel 4.
